How to download video from YouTube?

Although this is widely available in the World-Wide-Web, friends including relatives have been asking for instruction. Perhaps they are confused with so many sites available or that they do not know where to search for them ;)

Depending on what type of browsers that you are having, the instruction for IE and Firefox are slightly different though they are "more or less" the same. And since i am using Firefox, the instruction is based on this option.

Firefox browser:
Beside Firefox browser that you have, it also requires "Download_Helper" and "Flash Video(FLV)" player applications to be installed.

DownloadHelper is an add-on application to capture video or image files. And in order for the video to run, it requires a “FLV” player.

1). Downloadhelper
Go to this location to download this application, an "add-on" under Firefox.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006

Click on the picture to download the “Video Downloadhelper, version 4.7.3.” or higher.

After installation, it may ask you to reload Firefox browser. Then, let it reload.

Now when u surf "YouTube" page, for example, it will automatically detects video, then its icon gets animated.

The following picture shows the upper part of browser's menu. Look out for the animated icon which is below the “Bookmarks” or beside the “House” icon.

Then click on this or the "drop-down list" which is beside the animated icon to select the video u want to capture. When the file (video) begins downloading, u can go for another link to download the next video without having to wait for it to finish.

Take note of the download’s destination folder. Depending on the Firefox version, the default is at |My Documents | Downloads

2). Flash Video player (FLV):

Go to this link to get the player

http://download.cnet.com/FLV-Player/3000-2139_4-10505954.html

then click on the file, flvplayer_setup.exe. (if this link is missing or have been relocated, search for "FLV Player.")

Let this be a default player for FLV files or just agree with the options after installation. By this way, whenever u click on FLV files, it just plays.

On the FLV screen, there is an option for image enlarger such as 2x or full screen but the latter resolution may not be high definition.

Okay, all the best for the above installations.
